Before you start:
Read the ACOUSTICON License contract (ACOUSTICON License Contract).
Requirements:
- The ACAM License file (not for a Demo installation and not for a update).
- A licence key (not for a demo and not if a service contract is present).
- A working network connection to the ACAM System control unit.
- The ACAM Software.
- System administrator rights for software installation.
- 1.5 GByte free Harddisk space (additional 2.2 GB when all speechtests are installed).
- one of the following operating systems:
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional (32 Bit)
Microsoft Windows XP Professional (32 Bit)
Microsoft Windows Vista Business (32 Bit)
Microsoft Windows Vista Enterprise (32 Bit)
Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate (32 Bit)
Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (32 & 64 Bit)
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (32 & 64 Bit)
If the ACAM System is already installed:
We strongly recommend to make a backup of the ACAM software.
There are two paths you should backup:
C:\Program files\ACAM (here are all ACAM Programfiles and sounds located), and the ACAM Home Path. The home path is created with version 5,9,10 12.29.2010 or later.
You can enter this path by clicking the shortcut "ACAM Home Path" in the ACAM program group (It's a path that depends on the OS you use). In this path all userdatas are located, including all calibrations and the licence file.
The licence file is very important (xxxxxxx.reg file, where xxxxx is the serial number of your ACAM system). This file is automaticly created, when you start the ACAM_kal.exe program with administrator rights. Another way to get this file is to use the regedit.exe program. Start regedit, navogate to the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Acousticon\ACAM and start an export of this.
Additional recommendations:
Perform the installation at a convenient time when ACOUSTICON live support is available.
Alternatively, installation can be performed remotely by an ACOUSTICON service technician. A service contract is recommended.
After Installation:
Once the software is successfully installed, a check of the ACAM System should be performed and documented in the maintenance manual. At the initial start-up following installation, the ACAM System creates a form that should be kept in the maintenance manual.
A calibration of the test box and real ear system is necessary after installation.
