• Is it possible to install the ACAM software on computer with no connection to the ACAM hardware?
  Yes, this is possible. You can install the software as a demo version (see also: Installation).
  In the demo version all functions of ACAM are useable except the measurement functions, because the hardware is needed for that. For example You can print out (e.g. audiograms), edit data (e.g. fitting documentation or extra documentation) and import/export files.
  
  
• ACAM does not start - What to do?
  Please read the error message that appears on the screen and see also chapter:Error Messages.
  
  
• ACAM is starteable, but all the measurement functions are deactivated. - How can the measurement functions be reactivated?
  Please read the message that appears at startup and see also chapter:Error Messages. 
  
  
• The ACAM software crashed. Can I restore the client's data, that were collected until the crash?
  Yes - this is always possible! But you have to distinguish whether:
  -  ACAM has been started under NOAH: Then please read the chapter Data recovery after system crash under NOAH
  - ACAM hasn't been started under NOAH: In this case your data is still in the Cache of the software, so you can restore the data by simply restarting the ACAM software by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
  Note: All datas that are gathered from the ACAM software are always saved on your local hard disc drive. Even after a restart of the computer the files still exists in the temporary folder of ACAM. Read more in chapter:Directories and Folder Structures and in chapter Data recovery after system crash under NOAH.
  
  
• I'd like to attach a sound system to my computer beside the ACAM - Is it possible?
  Yes - that is not an issue. ACAM supports two soundcards, that are freely selectable. Because WIndows support (almost) any number of soundcards, you can just attach another soundcard to your computer and use it for the sound system, with the configuration of your choice. The sound system can be used in parallel to your ACAM sound card. You'll find further informations in chapter: ACAM does not play sounds.
  
  
• The output of the speech audiometry is too loud/ too soft. How can I correct this?
  Probably the sound card has been changed, or the ACAM device uses another sound card as initially configured. Please red chapter: Wrong Sound Level Played by Sound Card
  
  
• I'd like to attach my sound system to the ACAM device. Is this possible?
  Yes - this is generally possible. But maybe the hardware configuration of your ACAM has to be changed for that, to ensure that the sound levels are compatible to each other. Probably a new calibration of the loudspeakers needs to be done. For that please contact our Support Center.
  
  
• The playback of speech and sound is distorted.
  - If the overall level is correct: Your sound card probably produces sound levels that are too low or the calibration is wrong.
  - If the overall level is too high please read chapter: Wrong Sound Level is Played by Sound Card
  
  
• Sounds played in speech audiometry and/or over freefield loudspeakers are humming.
  This may be a cause of the sound card.
  Following actions may help:
  - Power supply of ACAM and the Computer over the same electrical outlet.
  - Use of an external sound card (e.g. USB)
  - Install a galvanic isolation between ACAM and the sound card (This can be purchased from Acousticon).
  
  
• I'd like to play customized sound files. How do I configure ACAM?
  This is possible, of course. You have two possibilities:
  - Copy the sounds you want to implement in ACAM in the designated folder of the ACAM directory (see Directories and Folder Structures).
  - Schalten Sie im ACAM (z.B. in der Lasche Richtungshören) die Wiedergabe ein. Nun werden alle Soundausgaben die auf dieser Soundkarte erfolgen von ACAM wiedergegeben (mehr unter Richtungshören / Beispieleinstellungen).
  
  
• I'd like to buy a new computer. At which things should I pay attention?
  ACAM does not run on every operating system. A list of supported OS can be found in chapter: Before you start. Further informations can be found in chapter: Installing the ACAM Device on another Computer.
  
  
• How do I play other CDs in ACAM?
  CDs may be played via ACAM, if the audio output of the CD-ROM drive is done over the sound card at which ACAM is connected. For direct integration in ACAM please read: CD-Playback. • How can I make the input of the clinet's answers easier in the loudness scaling?
  If you connect a Touchscreen to your computer you can use the Wenn an Ihrem Computer ein Touch Screen angeschloassen ist, dann können Sie in der Skalierung die Kundendialog verwenden. Weiter informationen unter: Psychoakustik / Skalierung / Setup.
